SUMMARY
:

Gamification is a relatively new concept as it applies to the world of business. Some organization are using some form of rewards or leader boards to encourage employee engagement (gamification in its simplest form) and are seeing increases in their populations and customers with the use of social media.

According to Wikipedia- Gamification is the use of game-thinking and game mechanics in non-game contexts in order to engage users and solve problems. Gamification is used in applications and processes to improve user engagement, ROI, data quality, timeliness and learning.

What do I need to know about this thing called “gamification” to ensure that my organization can maintain our competitive advantage?

This session is designed to deliver a primary understanding of what is involved with using game mechanics for serious topics. We will explore four areas of applications; how much does it cost, how long does it take, do I have the talent to DIY (do it yourself) and what is the impact on the ecosystem where I want to deploy the project. Most important will be to start to determine the business problem to be solved by this application (if at all).

Guests may attend one HVBF Roundtable before joining the HVBF.
